Hiring foreign workers

Companies that want to hire foreign workers are required in some cases to obtain authorization to hire such workers. The purpose of this requirement is to give priority to Permanent Residents and Canadian citizens to find employment within Canada.

When a company is not able to find the right candidates to fulfill their job openings in the Canadian market, then an authorization can be given to expand their search for employees outside of the Canadian borders and hire foreign workers.

Regardless if the foreign worker is already in Canada or still living abroad, the authorization might still be required.

This authorization is called a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Our company provides advice and representation in preparing and processing this authorizations.

After obtaining a positive LMIA, the foreign worker needs to apply to obtain his authorization to come work in Canada using this document as support for the job that he’ll be performing. We also provide consultation services for foreign workers.
