Permanent Residents

In 2016 a total of 296.000 people became permanent residents of Canada. The majority of them, 156.000, were economic immigrants (skilled workers, investors, Provincial nominees, live in caregivers) and 78.000 Family class (spouses and partners, parents, sons and daughters of current permanent residents or Canadians).*

There are different ways to become a permanent resident of Canada.
